As funny as Yotsuba's actions are, the book is far deeper than many
might think. The deepest laugh comes not from seeing Yotsuba do
something odd and funny, but rather when one realizes s/he is able to
see the absolute innocence in Yotsuba and then is able to relate to
it, or at a minimum to miss it or to long for it. I admit that I
cannot really relate to it, but I miss it and wish for it, and it's
wonderful!
