Translated, it doesn't mean much because it can't really be
translated. Well, I was curious, so I searched on the web and found
some guy's illegal fan-scan. There it's written as, "Awe-some,
There's a lot of houses here daddy!" "Whoah!! So many people" "Is
there a festival today!?"
Hmph, how impossibly lacking. Just the "aruNA!" of the first
sentence, then "matsuriKA!?" of the third sentence immediately said to
me that Yotsuba is not just a normal kid. First thing that occurred
to me was that she might not even be human. I don't really know that
yet since the first volume doesn't go that far, but it is explained in
this volume that she is not really Koiwai's daughter.
Azuma-sensei's works are great examples of why it is so important to
learn the language and the culture of the art which you're trying to
appreciate. Without it, you cannot fully appreciate it. You can
argue against what I say all you want. It won't change the fact that
you're missing out and don't even know it.
Anyway, this is extremely funny and mysterious little story. I'll be
sure to pick up future volumes as they come out.
