You know what they say, "third time is the charm." There was the Blue Sub thingy I never could like. Then there is Gatekeepers, which is just a confused mix of other great anime as far as I'm concerned. Now, here comes Vandread. It's not anything spectacular (other than the visuals, that is), but it is charming nonetheless. I mean, it brings a new meaning to male/female relationships. Di-ta is certainly likeable despite the repeated "Uchuujin-san" thingy. I guess I'd rather have her say, "Baka!" instead because he sure is. I'll be collecting this one. It's money better spent than buying Gatekeepers anyway.
Image1 shows a nice all-computer-graphics shot. Battle scenes are quite spectacular. Somehow, they avoid being too cheesy, which is very surprising to me. It's a good surprise, of course.
Image2 shows a mix or hand-drawn mecha on a CG ship. Not bad. Not bad at all! If you don't know, yeah, they're about to... do it. ^_^

Note that I cropped them since top and bottom had no useful information. It's too bad it wasn't encoded anamorphic. That would have been fan-tastic.
