Due to the wide-spread (Japanese) CD sound quality issues, I haven't been buying music CDs lately, but I heard about the composer, Muramatsu Ken, from an unrelated internet radio (Sawashiro Miyuki's 12 Nights) and decided to take a chance with this. I actually picked it up in person at Akihabara.

As far as I can tell, dynamic range compression is minor. Visual analysis indicates it should sound great, but it just doesn't sound quite right. That's not to say it sounds bad. Not at all, in fact, but there appears to be something technically missing. Maybe it was the recording equipment or the mastering equipment. I don't know.

Still, I like the music style and it's not so badly mastered as to be annoying, so I have no regrets about buying this.
