And now for something unusual.

This is a limited low-price release of the 1983 movie, apparently to commemorate the 2006 anime version. Since it's relatively cheap, I picked it up.

I love it! But probably for all the wrong reasons. For such a full length film, I don't feel like there's much to get out from the story. Maybe I've gotten used to dense materials of late. Equipments are also lacking compared to today's stuff, and special effects are crude, but that's to be expected. I'm more surprised at the fact that even the story feels a bit crude.

Then why do I love it? Because it feels so nostalgic. 1980's Japan is very similar to 1980's Korea, so watching this film brought back a lot of memories. Also, some of the scenes should be familar to people who watch a lot of anime, despite the fact that those scenes aren't realistic for modern Japan. Seeing such scenes when they were actually realistic gives me nostalgia about current animes, too.
