Animephile Rating: A

This CD is somewhat special to me because it's the first drama CD that I bought for the purpose of buying a drama CD. That may sound strange, but bear with me. I've quite a few drama CDs with me, but I bought them for the songs or for the sake of buying all the CDs for a particular series. Purchasing this CD made me realize that I've reached a new level of appreciation for anime. I find drama CDs very interesting in many ways. First of all, I have to listen to them quite a few times before I can fully understand everything that are said. Most of them are easy enough, though. Also, without the graphics to distract me, I can really concentrate on the voice acting part. For the most part, I have nothing but respect for the Japanese voice actors and actresses. The word to describe their work would be "phenomenal."
Anyway, this CD features some well known (at least now they are) voices. There's Horie Yui (Narusegawa Naru-Love Hina) for one. I think Multi was one of her earliest roles if not the first one. She was also Aun (Photon), which I didn't realize until I watched Photon recently on R1 DVD. Iwao Junko doesn't need an introduction. Kawasumi Ayako (Kamigishi Akari). I love her voice. She has very naturally cute sound. I believe her success as Akari had something to do with her new recent role of Ruriko (Gatekeepers). Minami Omi is featured on this CD. I don't think she's particularly special except for the fact that she played Hoshino Ruri in Nadesico. Actually, that makes her special enough. Isn't it interesting how this "fan" thing works? Ohtani Ikue isn't featured on this CD because Hinayama Rio doesn't feature on this CD, but I just wanted to mention her because she is special to me in a different way. All of her roles that I know well are of characters that I would love to think of as my sister. Okay, Pikachu excepted. "pika?"
Wow, I'm in the babbling mood....
Back to the CD. This CD is a reprint. A reprint is a rare thing and it's even rarer for any CD to get a second print run within 1 years of the first. This should mean something to you. Well, actually, first one was discontinued quickly due to contract problems, but still.... I'm glad because the popularity of this kind of drama tells me that there's hope for loving people in the world after all.
