On the other hand, watching it caused a light bulb to turn on inside
my head, not literally, of course. You can tell a lot about people by
careful observation. Of course, you shouldn't make a judgment, but
you can still note whatever you pick out from these observations.
For example, watching Mizuki Nana in videos, I can see that she
doesn't really understand what she's worth. She's very careful about
her demands. Heck, she probably doesn't demand anything. This is
kind of sad, in my opinion.
How about Okui Masami? She is a real musician. Her #1 goal is to
make music and sing them. She will not hesitate to take lowly jobs to
fund her career. I think she is a unique musical character and as I
say in her CD reviews, you really can't go wrong buying her albums.
So, how did I come to think of all this? Because I noticed that
Shiina-san's concert is very different from both Nana-chan's concert
and Okui-san's concert. Shiina-san's concert is way more flashy.
It's obvious that it's funded in a completely different way. In the
end, Shiina-san herself doesn't do much beyond singing. Seeing it
created a big confusion in my head because most of my knowledge of
Shiina-san comes from the fact that she plays Alpha in Yokohama
Kaidashi Kikou. This concert presents a completely different
Shiina-san to me. At least, it tries to. I'm not so sure if it was
completely successful.
At least I learned that her musical focus is completely incompatible
with me, so I won't need to waste money buying her CDs. Songs she
sings for anime are different story, of course.
Anyway, time for some images.
Image1: Look at the large stage, complex array of lights, and three
huge projection screens.
Image2: Computer effects and many multi-color lights.
Image3: Don't forget FIRE.
Image4: I'm sure you all want a close-up of Shiina-san, so here's one.
