I got gypped! (No offence to gypsies). I preordered this, but because I combined it with Kanon DVD 7 (2007-07-04 release), it didn't ship until around 2 weeks later, and I didn't get the first pressing. Either Avex is being really stingy or they're selling like hotcakes. I imagine it's a combination of both, but I'm blaming Avex for this one as it's not the first time something like this has happened with them, especially recently. Maybe I should just have picked one up at AX2007. Oh well. CDs get stored in boxes after I rip and list them, so I don't even look at them again anyway.
Some of the songs are far too maniac for me to know. If you think I'm a serious otaku, you're probably an American. You have no idea. When I listen to Momoi talk about otaku stuff on radios, I get lost. I'd probably be considered "average" in Japan. In the U.S., I'm pretty sure I'm way up there. Where do you think you belong?
Anyway, overall, I think the selection is too... hard-core. On one hand, it makes sense to target her hard-core fans, but on another hand, I think maybe she should be trying to expand her audience a little. In the end, it might not have been her choice anyway, because the songs were supposedly picked based on fan requests over the net.
For your information, I requested "Tokimeki" from "Tokimeki Memorial." Apparently, not enough people thought like me.
And finally, what's up with the price!? Y3,000 for 37 minutes? That's pretty up there. Licensing fees?
