I'm not sure about the purpose of this CD. I don't think she's making a big comeback or anything, not that she even retired. From my point of view, it's all whimsical. In fact, I bought it on a whim, too. It's kind of interesting to hear classic (and not so classic) anime themes in Bossa Nova style, not that I even know that style.

Considering the music style, and the fact that it's not aiming for a big marketing splash, it's pretty absurd how much dynamic range compression is applied to the music. It's like the norm was stabbed, stepped on, shot, and tossed out the window of a high rise building. The incessant peaks are pointless for this kind, and almost all other kinds of music!

The really sad part is, it's actually relatively good compared to most other recent CDs. However on an absolute scale, even the better tracks like 10 (Lum no Love Song) can't compete with the original from 1993.
