I've always liked Masumin. In fact, she's the main reason I wanted to visit Akita when I went to Japan for the first time last year. Sure, it doesn't make much logical sense, but whatever it takes. In the end, I ended up not going. However, I'm planning on going there soon. For all I know, I might not even leave the hotel much since it's likely pretty cold there, but I still want to go there. Yes, it's not very logical, but I already mentioned that.

I finally got to see her last month at the University of Tsukuba. She has such cute lips! They're especially cute when she talks. How fitting that her main job involves talking, and how ironic that no one can actually see them. In that "lecture," I learned about her other job as an author, so I picked up a couple of her books.

I have a bunch of books written by seiyuu. You know, Hayashibara Megumi, Yamamoto Maria, Momoi Haruko.... Without reservation, I can say this is the best of them. Actually, forget the seiyuu part. It's just a good book, period. In fact, this book has very little to do with her being a seiyuu, anyway.

It's kind of like a photo album of her memories, except without very many photos. It is an essay, after all. The interesting thing is, reading it brings out your own old memories. I think it's because we're all kind of alike in some ways. I mean, being a human is just that, isn't it?

Her writing is easy to read and understand. The book is also a hardcover with large letters (old man like me can really appreciate that). I can strongly recommend this book to humans, especially ones around her age group, because memories of the people of similar age groups mix better, letting the reader relate to the author in a stronger way. Hey, I'm only around 3 years older than her. Oops, did I say something about an old man? ^_^;;
