Comments:
It seems like this was a fairly low-budget (either time, money, or
both) project. There are a lot of re-used frames and not too many
character movements, but the animators did care about the show and the
characters. It isn't until the Senki II time frame where they get
more funding, but even then, they weren't given more time. I've yet
to read the novel, though I have them, but I can guess that the anime
simply follows the novel, which makes it feel somewhat disjoint. In
the end, the anime is probably more meaningful to people who read the
novel. At least it's not incomplete like Alien Nine animation.
Regardless of all that, the story is very intricately written. Its
background is grand and yet the stories themselves are very
personable, which is why I love the story so much.
