Doesn't matter. There isn't any more information to get out of even
if they used anamorphic format. Blurrrr. Second disc is all video so
it's 4:3, but it's sharp, so I wouldn't have minded if they used
wide-screen camera for it.

I know this is very unusual, but the ending theme sequence is
unacceptably messed up! Audio is compressed to hell during the ending
theme sequence. And I love the song and the visual for it, too! What
kind of idiot sound engineer are they using? A high-school dropout?
If you don't know what "compression" means, read this:
ESP audio
compression article. No, I'm not talking about making stuff
smaller. Oh, and there's the very incomplete progressive-ness.
Comments:
If it's such an awesome series (manga sold over 2.2 million copies!),
why is the animation so low-budget!? Gonzo has received -- yuck,
makes it sound as if it's a good thing -- a reputation for doing an
awesome job starting out and then going downhill at even more awesome
speed, so I was very worried. Well, it starts out pretty low, so I
guess they won't be able to go downhill that fast.
At least it's not sloppy. It's not that expensive, so I'll collect
them all. Figure is neat, but I don't really care for such things. I
don't know what to do with them. Extra material on the main disc is
pretty low quality -- a $500 camcorder would take better video.
Thankfully, special disc2 material is good quality.
