Jumping to a slightly technical point of view, these CDs are not too
bad in terms of audio quality, but these aren't that great either
compared to audiophile quality recordings. The issue I have is that
these sound too enhanced. When there's just one flute playing, it
sounds almost as loud as when the whole brass section is playing.
Come on, now. My audio system can handle some massive amount of
dynamic range. Let's make some use of it. To that end, I'm going to
start searching for good quality recordings of these music.
Update: Actually, because these pieces are from so many different
recordings, some are better than others. For example, I was pretty
impressed with track 24 of the first CD.
