Yikes, this one has so many problems, even at the discount prices, it's not worth it. In fact, unlike the Pretty Sammy OVA series, this TV series does not have any cleverness associated with it. Plain and simple, it's a children's show. But as that, it is enjoyable. Unfortunately due to the terrible video quality and annoying hack for the transformation sequence, it's totally not worth my projector's lamp time. Luckily, I recently bought an RP82 to replace my RP62. I was going to just shelf the RP62, but I decided to connect it to my 13" TV. I have something to watch during my 30 minute meals for a long time to come. It turns out to be a good thing as I've quite a bit of anime I just can't bring myself to watch for the sake of watching anime. Blue Gender is another one of those. Now, I can slowly watch them on my 13" TV with half of my attention going to gulping down food.

Don't get me wrong. There is something to like about the whole Pretty Sammy genre --There are so many, it might as well be a genre. If the video quality was top notch, I wouldn't have minded using my projector at all. I'm kind of fond of Misao, you know. Or maybe I'm just fond of Kasahara-san's voice. Oh, and the extras are kind of fun. Tiny so- called pencil board that comes with first pressing isn't very good quality and it's too small to be useful.
