Comments:
THE loot from my first Japan trip! The entire limited edition /
figure edition set of Pita-Ten DVDs for Y13,800!!! In reality, it
cost me another Y1,050 because I had to buy a cheap duffle bag to make
room in the main luggage for all the boxes.
Quick impression on used anime market:
- It is easier to find used media for more recent titles. However,
the discount is relatively small. Older titles are rarer, especially
in complete sets, but can be a real bargain.
- Popular titles are easier to find, but the discount is again
relatively small.
- Some titles do appreciate in value, but they're rare.
- It's almost sad how abundant recently released CD singles are in
the used market. I believe this is because people buy them, possibly
multiple times, in order to get event tickets. For example, I imagine
there are quite a few people who bought multiple copies of Tamura
Yukari's new CD single, in order to up the chance of getting picked
for the poster hand out events.
- Items that don't sell become cheaper and cheaper over time. I
got a Galaxy Angel Calendar CD 2 for less than two bucks!
- As to be expected, some titles are rarer than others. I could
not find much Asatte no Houko DVDs. I did find a complete set of
Sketchbook ~Full Color's~ for Y16,800, and stared at it for a while,
but ended up leaving it.
Just before I left for Japan, I reread the last few volumes of the
manga and it got me thinking about the anime. Then it occurred to me
that Misha may be the perfect role for Yukarin. I always thought the
anime version was pretty good, too, so when I saw the set, I grabbed
it, even though I don't really care for the figures. That was the end
of that.
