Comments:

I knew a little bit about this show because I listen to Shintani Ryouko's Magicu radio. From the short description, I thought it would be just a cute and fluffy show. Thankfully, my preconception about the show got destroyed after watching the first episode.

The almost political nature of the relationships makes me question if this is really a show for young children, but I guess I'm just underestimating the children of Japan. That happens when you get used to seeing Americans (young and old). Petopeto-san's tendency(?) to attach to another, for example, has an interesting purpose. There's a kind of evolution thing going on here.

Not only is the premise unusual (therefore fresh), it's executed impeccably. I'm totally impressed with the show's seemless integration of realism and fantasy while keeping things cute and innocent as well. And I'm saying all this after watching only one episode so far! Needless to say, this one will be a keeper.

Petoko's mother (voiced by Kingetsu Mami!). I bet she's hard to draw. You have to draw both sides of her clothes!
