Comments:

This is a regular edition, not the limited edition. It also has an alternate catalogue number of TGBS-3347.

It features ridiculously detailed animation, costly audio production, many old timer seiyuu, and so on. In the end, it's nowhere near as good as some of Kon Satoshi's previous works, such as "Perfect Blue" and "Millennium Actress." From MAD House perspective, "Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo" most likely cost less to produce, yet is much more memorable than this work.

"Perfect Blue" and "Millennium Actress" had more dream (aspiration, ideals, and vision) than this thing. This is more about dream (abstraction, delusion, and illusion). Have you ever considered that maybe people who prefer the second do so because they can't stand the reality they're in? How about learning to appreciate small things in your life? In a more plain words, "Perfect Blue," "Millennium Actress," and "Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo" are distinctively traditional Japanese, whereas "Paprika" is much more foreign. I wonder which groups of people will prefer which one.

Remember how I said Kon-kantoku must be a seiyuu otaku? This DVD features an audio track that is missing a specific seiyuu (Hayashibara Megumi) so that YOU can try to act out her role! To help you with that, there's even a subtitle track with only her lines! Beat that!

Anyway, my verdict is that it's dreamy (the second type) to watch and all that, but lacks real feelings to inspire.

There are bunch of things in this room that are really odd. For example, that enter key on the notebook is upside down. And how does someone who can't use his legs use the ladder?
