This volume contains the Christmas story, and the part time work that both Haruka and Yuuto suffer through (at least one of them anyway) to pay for each other's presents. Note that they do not work at the same place. Haruka works at a Maid Cafe and Yuuto works as a butler, if you can call it that. Haruka never figures out Yuuto had a part time job, nor does she realize that he knew about her part time job.
Frankly, I'm getting tired of the same old stuff. Sure, they introduce new super maids (combat/security specialist and medical specialist) working at Nogizaka household, but man, that stuff can be amusing only so many times. And the new rich rival lady Ten'nouji Touka fails to add any substance to the story, either. Technically, she isn't even new because she was in the school festival episode.
Worst of all, I can't stand Yuuto's sister and her worthless trash teacher friend. Come to think of it, Shiina might be the only normal person in this messed up story. Well, okay, Yuuto, too. Neither get treated very well, though. At least Yuuto gets his dreamy moments with Haruka. I'm starting to think that Yuuto should just hook up with Shiina and turn the whole thing into a normal romantic love story. Happily ever after.
Urgh. I still have 3 more volumes to go through. I get the feeling that I'll finish Den'nou Coil 7 before NHnH 6. And Den'nou Coil 7 won't even be released until next month.
The best part about this volume is the afterwords section where the author talks about going to @home cafe. Of course, he went there to research maid cafes. After all, he couldn't write about maid cafes without first seeing the real thing. I was actually at @home cafe in Akihabara, but the lines were too long, so I gave up and went somewhere else. There must be a good reason why they're so popular.
