When I first heard about this show, I disregarded it completely, but as I watched it little bit at the local anime club, I realized that Sunrise still knows what they're doing. Sunrise makes these for the core anime otaku, and has fun while doing it, too. It has good focus on the subject at hand, even as strange aspects of it are explored, and the action scenes are cool. It's almost a Sunrise tradition. As different as the main subjects are for the two titles, this reminds me a lot of Ryvius.
No, I haven't bought any of the DVDs of the actual show. If I see a used set, or if a nice boxset is released, I'll most likely pick it up. Or I might just get the R1 release later.
