As I mentioned in Sensei no Ojikan anime DVD listing, both of these
are cultural satires of one thing or another. If anything, Momoiro
Sisters is somewhat like "Oruchuban Ebichu." The main satire topic is
sex. Sometimes it's very shallow, and other times, it's very deep.
Pun intended. What pun? If you don't even get that, you'll never get
anything in these books.
There are a lot of things in Momoiro Sisters that I don't understand.
For one thing, I am doutei, but more importantly, I'm not familiar
with many of the cultural topics discussed in it. Basically, I feel
that it is better than I can appreciate it. In fact, I find it much
more educational than "Futari H." I think I just wrote something
controversial. Neat.
One thing is for sure, though. Momoiro Sisters isn't as episodic as
Sensei no Ojikan, and as stereotypical as the characters are, they're
not so one dimensional like the characters in Sensei no Ojikan. To be
frank, I think Momoiro Sisters is much better than Sensei no Ojikan.
Art-wise, these books are fairly large compared to the standard manga.
Character drawings are fairly simple, but very cute and well expressed.
I have no real complaints. I won't be reading them very fast because
they're meant to be read in small doses.
