Well, there goes another one. I compared songs I already had on older CDs (tracks 4, 5, 7, 10, 11, and 12), and mixing quality is all worse on this CD. The loss is about 3dB, give or take a little depending on the track. Back when I listed those other CDs, I hadn't officially started tracking sound quality, so I didn't write anything about them, but looking at them now, they're all just barely 3-stars to begin with, so we're now down to 2-stars, which means, I'm not buying her stuff anymore.
Stupid thing is, there isn't anything wrong with the first track. Why do other tracks need to be messed up, then?
Her songs and her singing are both very spirited and I'll miss that. In the highly unlikely event that things get better, and even more unlikely event that someone who is directly involved (artist, recording engineer, producer, et al.) would like to inform me about the change (I'd have a better chance of winning a lottery jackpot), please email me around 30 seconds worth of newly mastered track, so I can decide for myself if it's acceptable again. Note that once dropped (2-stars or less), at least 7-star quality rating is required to get back on my support list.
