You know? I think this is the first Lantis DVD I bought. What a way to leave a bad first impression with a crappy 240 vertical resolution video, eh? Believe or not, the thought that they messed up the video intentionally has crossed my mind. As much as one can hate the freeloaders, one must not mistreat paying customers at any cost! Then, I remembered that quote by Napoleon Bonaparte, "Never ascribe to malice, that which can be explained by incompetence." Yup. We're talking about some serious level of incompetence here.
On the positive side, video almost never stays still, so Faroudja's DCDi stays in the mode that prefers temporal data, leading to somewhat watchable video... except that this attention deficit disorder accommodating/inducing editing annoys me even more than half resolution video does. Add terrible compression artifacts caused by way too much moving data, and we end up with one hell of a bad DVD.
Audio is not too bad. It still has some excessive dynamic range compression applied to it, but it's better than most CDs out there.
Two tracks on this disc (rinbu-Revolution with Okui Masami and Mizuki Nana; and seishoujo ryouiki with Takarano Arika and Mizuki Nana) feature triple angle video. It's not 100% consistent, but as far as I can tell, main angle is the generic view following whoever the focus is (i.e. whoever is singing) and the other two angles follow specific individuals regardless of who's singing.
By the way, this event was on July 7, 2007, Japan time. That means, Momoi performed her live at AnimeExpo2007, flew back, then almost immediately performed again in this event. Wow! That must've been really tough on her.
Slightly wider than usual DVD case containing three discs, and a fairly substantial booklet.
I think maybe the middle area with some empty seats is reserved. Oh, and did I mention terrible resolution?
There is a high probability that those with green Cyalume(TM) are Suara fans.
