Only 3,480 yen, and that's including tax, which I don't have to pay normally. Unfortunately, this is not a general release, so I had to go through a proxy service. Since I wasn't buying anything else with it, all the fees added up to the final cost of $72 for just one DVD.

I'm sure different people will be drawn to this DVD for different reasons. My main goal was to see Suara, Koyama Rikiya (Hakuoro) & Yuzuki Ryouka (Eruruu) pair, and Miyake Kaya (Touka).

Overall, it's not a highly scripted event. It's kind of surprising to me, but apparently, a lot of fan events are this way. I'm not complaining or anything. I just expected Japanese people to be more structured about everything they do.

I took quite a few screencaps, so I'll just comment on them instead of describing stuff here. Note I've resized all of them to proper aspect ratio, so they're not as useful for judging video quality. Just take my word for it. Video is fine. Audio, on the other hand, is kind of dull. From looking at waveforms, the issue doesn't appear to be over-tinkering or bad mastering. Instead, recording quality just wasn't there to begin with. I guess the equipment was not very high quality or they weren't set up properly. Oh well.

Images (move cursor over each image to see short comment):

Miyake Kaya and Ookawa Touru. Ookawa-san is here for Tears to Tiara, but he did a couple of cool roles for Utawarerumono, too nyamo!

Itou Shizuka, Nabatame Hitomi, Rikimaru Noriko, and Kogure Ema (To Heart 2).

New AQUAPLUS singer, Uehara Rena, surrounded by Itou Shizuka and Ochiai Yurika. Rena-chan is very very cute.

Utaware-team showing a short English-dubbed clip. I totally agree with what Yuzuki Ryouka says here. That ain't no Eruruu!

Apparently, this was the first event for Miyake Kaya. She's always hiding behind Rikiya-san and generally being startled. Very cute that way, actually.

Impromptu voice acting session with all three groups. Tears to Tiara group is not on this screenshot.

I swear someone should put Vulcan ears on Kaya-chan. She'll need no other makeup trick to become a Vulcan.

Audience appears to be split into groups. I'm sure they had different reasons for being there. Many weren't into active cheering. There was a guy near the front doing otagei, though. Pretty obvious :)

Suara sings Utaware related songs (kimi dake no tabiji, musouka, and kimigatame), AQUAPLUS classic (Powder Snow), and the new opening for Tears to Tiara (Haunting Melody). Kimi dake no tabiji and Haunting Melody were fine, but the others were new arrangements used in Pure, AQUAPLUS Legend of Acoustics. I don't really care for them. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one.

AQUAPLUS singers, Suara and Uehara Rena. Rena-chan's voice is really pure, like synthesized voice. I don't really like that, but I noticed AQUAPLUS picks that kind of voice often. I think Motoda Emi and Ikeda Haruna both fall in that category. Everyone has their tastes, I'm sure. If it means anything, I think Rena-chan has the purest voice among the three. Of course, I prefer Suara-chan's voice. Nakatsukasa Masami's voice is cool, too.

Cover of a copy of the script book used for the impromptu voice acting session. It's part of the DVD deal. I guess you could say it's a first-pressing item, but then, there is only one pressing of this, as it's special preorder only item. It's interesting following the session with the script because you can tell all the places where adlibs were used.
