Speaking of seiyuu, we have some very interesting mix here. Yoshino
Hiroyuki (Hibiki in Vandread) plays the main role of Mametarou. Come
to think of it, I haven't heard his voice in a while. Maybe he really
is in need of more work. On the contrary, I highly doubt Orikasa
Fumiko, who plays Iku-chan, is in need of work. Her first solo album
is coming out soon, by the way. We also have Shimoya Noriko (Toomine
Kasumi in Alien 9) and even Hidaka Noriko (Need I give an example?).
Now, Shimoya-san probably does need some way to get her career moving
faster. It's really too competitive out there. Oh, there's Suzuki
Masami, too. It's been a long time since I heard her voice in a new
anime.
So what is it about? Dogs. Specifically, it's about Mametarou,
Hanako, Sora, and Sebastian. It's kind of similar to "Shiawase-sou no
Okojo-san," but this one is much calmer. I really like how all the
animal characters have two animation forms. It's kind of like SD
(Super-Deformed), but more like SS (Super-Simplified) form. There are
examples in the screen-captures. I'm sure it saved a lot of time and
money for the animation.
Not to be mean to the seiyuu needing more work, I don't really want
more of this to be made. It ended nicely and I like how this one
purchase completes the series.
Anyway, this DVD is packed with 66 minutes worth of extras, not to
mention the soundtrack CD. Also considering that this is all there is
to the series, I highly recommend this DVD. I also doubt this will
become available on Region1 DVD.
Image6: In one of the extras, Orikasa-san and Yoshino-san go to this
"Dog Cafe" and get to try out their menu, meant for dogs. If I
learned anything, it's that Yoshino-san really must need more work.
It seems he can't even afford food, although I suppose eating as much
free food as possible doesn't necessarily have anything to do with
ability to buy food.
Image7:Shimoya-san. I just thought I'd put her image up because most
people probably don't know what she looks like.
