Maria-sama ga Miteru 1

Created/Updated 2004-04-10

I already listened to the first CD drama, but the story has a fairly complicated premise, so I didn't quite get what was going on, which is why I still haven't listed that CD. Good thing, too, because after reading this, I know I have to listen to that CD again.

There is no question about it. This is a shoujo manga. Drawing is exquisite, with a lot of fine lines (I mean hair, not the other "lines.") and large, pretty, sparkling eyes. There're little breaks between chapters where characters are drawn in smaller and cuter forms (not quite SD), and they're all so cute!

Undoubtably, this isn't for everybody. Characters in shoujo manga tend to have more complex personalities. Girls are more complex, after all. I'm not saying it's necessarily good or bad. I'm just saying that's how it is.

Of course, the orignal series is from novels, but it's probably too complicated for me, so I'm passing on the novel. Besides, I just love the art in this manga.
