Comments:
Every well-written manga review I've read, be it from Japan or from
the U.S., says something in the line of, "It has interesting setup,
but doesn't make the best of it. Drawing is very pretty, however."
So far, I can see where they're coming from. It's a bit blurry, but
the designs are very pretty. I like the quiet moments like when Yume
is remembering the past experience of having pizza with her family.
Many shows start out nicely, but a lot of them fall apart after a few
episodes. I didn't notice anything wrong so far, but it's too early
to tell. I'm going to be careful with this one. After all, this is
from the same team that did Ai yori Aoshi.
I'm not yet sure about Miyazaki Aoi (voice of Kikuchi Yume). On one
hand, I like her acting even though it's very rough. She's new, after
all. Besides, her Engurishi was very pleasant. I really mean that.
It wasn't all twisted like Kuwashima-san's Engurishi. On the other
hand, she sounds too unnatural at times. I'm not familiar with the
dialect that Yume is supposed to speak, but my language sense, gained
while picking up multiple languages, tells me that she's terribly
off. That pizza flashback scene had her family talking and that was
much better. I'm willing to believe that my only problem with
Miyazaki-san is that her accent is too far off from the real thing.
Anyway, I really liked her springy hair for some reason, so I captured
those. bo-ing!
