Mahoutsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto 2, "Mafuyu no Yume no Seijaku"

Created/Updated 2004-04-28

It's only been two weeks since I finished reading the first book, now I'm finished with the second book. Actually, I was kind of putting it off. I can be unexpectedly lazy sometimes (sometimes?). But once the story hit the interesting part, --Kareno-sensei's stories seem to get really interesting past the 3/4 of the book-- it took only one evening from there to finish it.

This time around, I'm not going to describe the story. I will say, though, that I find the first book a bit more naturally flowing. I feel that there are a bit too much dependence on coincidence in this story. Still, I guess it's not too far fetched. It can be a small world, after all. By no means, am I saying this was bad. I loved the complexity that came together into a final simplicity. And the characters in this book are a lot more multi-dimensional than the ones in the first book.

One thing I realized is that Yume is one of those characters that people root for. I think her almost-too-straight-forward personality just makes people want to root for her. I bet she has a lot of fans who don't even realize they're her fans. I think the world has become far too complex, and unnecessarily so, too. Don't you think your life is? I'll just leave it at that.
