Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha, Soundstage 01

Animephile Rating: N/R

I don't think I know enough about this series yet to rate this. Raising Heart is Nanoha's magical stick, but it's very unusual in that it's more of a technical equipment than a magical toy. It speaks English, too, voiced by Donna Burke. I doubt this will have a fairytale-like story considering how seriously it handles the "magic" theme.

This first CD barely introduces Nanoha and her family and friends, so I can't tell much about what the characters are like and so forth, but it seems that Nanoha's family is more involved than in most other magical girl shows. In that sense, it reminded me of Card Captor Sakura.

Jewel Seed concept is also similar to Clow Cards, except that they act based more on their human controllers' desires than their own. In this particular story, it reminded me of the worthlessness of human desires. I hope it's not like this all the time in the anime, unless they're actually trying to tell us something. Or maybe they were just making fun of a particular episode of Mahoromatic. Heh?

Come think of it, I do get the feeling that it's making fun of other series, too, like Full Metal Panic and most likely others, too.

Vocal songs on this CD are not that great, but not terrible either. They're pretty simple, but listenable.
