Comments:

Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha, along with Utakata, is one of only two new series I've started picking up. Well, Crying Freeman doesn't count because it's old. For some reason, I had a high expectation for Nanoha and not much expectation for Utakata. As you'll see in my Utakata Box 1 listing, I feel like the world is turned upside down.

To get straight to the point, I am struggling to find a reason to continue purchasing this series.

Image1: Cover box and the DVD. Looks pretty good, actually. I guess what they say about not judging someone (or something) by external appearance is true.
Image2: Lifelessness overwhelms me.
Image3: Passable quality, actually. Oh, Nanoha is left handed.
Image4: Nanoha and her close friends (voices: Tamura Yukari, Kugimiya Rie, and Shimizu Ai)
Image5: You'd think that this would look and feel similar to the image 3 above, but that's absolutely untrue. Somehow, the animation technique used for this scene is completely different from the one used for the scene in image 3. There is more detail in this one, but I prefer the image 3. This feels incredibly unnatural.
Image6,7: This running scene is done using 3D models. It's very un-anime. I don't like it at all.
Image8: Most of the animation effort seems to have gone into making the magic scenes look... excessively complex. It feels more like a mecha show than a magical girl show.
Image9: Shimizu Ai, Tamura Yukari, and Kugimiya Rie.
