Comments:

Conte movie is the entire thing, but with continuity drawings instead of the actual movie footage. It has voices and music, but not the sound effects. During the end credit, there's an interesting explanation of the lyrics for the ending song. Even if you're not interested in watching the Conte movie, you should read that, if you can read Japanese, that is.

"Top Runner" is apparently an NHK show. I don't think the hosts did a very good job, but Shinkai-san's portion is inspiring, to say the least. People out there who watched the movie without paying for it and people who downloaded the music without buying the CD should be ashamed of themselves. There really is no excuse. The amount of work that went into making the movie is no joke. Once, I ran into a site that had the soundtrack in MP3 form. It even had an associated forum where a bunch of shameless people were posting about it. They were all saying how great it was. One guy even said that it was the best soundtrack he's ever listened to and then went on to ask if someone could upload "Hoshi no Koe" soundtrack, too. I wished I could peg a .45 JHP into his forehead to teach him a lesson. It would be a fatal lesson, but I wouldn't have a problem with that at all. Too bad. Most of my wishes never come true, and I don't even have that many.

Anyway, on to the images. Note that CD-ROM will be listed separately as MZDV-0008-2.

Comes with a DVD/CD, hefty conte book, and a place holder for the movie DVD (sold separately).

All contents put into the box, with place holder on the side. Note that the movie DVD is not part of this set. I just wanted to show everything together.

Do you recognize the male host? If you watched {Battle Royale,} you should.
