Just what I've always wanted! High-resolution background images and desktop images! There's even music scores in both PDF and JPG formats. I already changed the background image on my workstation at home, as can be seen in the picture. I'll be changing the one at work as soon as I get to work tomorrow. I've got 3840x1024 (3 LCDs) at work and the huge grass field one is going to work beautifully!
By the way, I'm not all that happy with the design and internal component quality of the Dell monitor (panel is fine). I'm planning on buying an Eizo S2410W-BK to replace it, and maybe take the Dell to work. Side-by-side 24" at home (3840x1200)? That would be interesting, but it would be a bit too much for what I do at home. If Eizo had a 24" model back when I bought the Dell, I would have bought it over Dell without a second thought, but they didn't have one then. But, man, that Apple 30" is tempting, for less than $800 more than Eizo....
Update 2006-02-04: For the doubters of my pursuit and support of quality equipment, here's an update. I dumped that Dell 2405FPW for $600 and replaced it with an Eizo S2410W, which cost me over $1,600. Despite the fact that they use the same Samsung panel, there's simply no comparison between the two. Eizo rocks and Dell sucks. While I was at it, I replaced the cheap desk, which was literally deforming, with an Anthro Idea Cart ($200) + two Anthro LCD arms ($250x2). Anthro is one of those rare companies that shows us how "Made In USA" can be a good thing.
