Animephile Rating: F (5.5)
- Video Scan Type : interlaced-TV (-2.5) -
dTV will detect 3:2 pulldown on _some_ panning scenes only.
- Aspect Handling : standard (-0.0)
- Compression : -1.0 -
Despite the high bit-rate, it has quite a bit of the usual compression
artifacts. When things change fast on the screen, it takes time to catch up
and causes blocks and shimmering colors. Strangely, the worst of these only
happen in opening sequence. I guess that's a good thing since opening
sequences aren't as important as the actual episodes.
- Video Separation : -1.0 -
Definitely there, but I can live with it.... I guess.
- Scene Transition : -0.0
- Calibration : -0.0
Comments:
It's cute, slightly ecchi series. It was done by the same people that did "To
Heart," which is why I didn't hesitate to buy it. I like the characters, but
the main story is stupid. Since I do like the characters, I like watching
them do stuff not related to the main story. Disc4 (Karinka trying to find
out Kurumi's secret) and the DVD-singles are, in my opionion, really worth
buying because they're fun to watch over and over. All in all, very colorful
series.
Image1 shows compression artifacts.
Image2 shows one of the SD (Super Deformed) moments. This series uses SD-mode
quite often. "Kyu-i-n!" Also notice how colorful the drawings are. The boy
in the image (Nakahito) is played by Kuwashima Houko-san. This is the same
person who did Yurika in Nadesico. I was AMAZED how completely different she
sounds! Actually, if I listen carefully, I can tell it's her, but without
knowing it was her, I would never have figured it out.
