Let me be extremely blunt here. V6, as far as I can tell, is one of
those "popularized by force" group. They're not bad singers, but
they're not really artists either. Maybe I'm wrong here, but then I
am stating what I feel from this CD. I only bought it for the OP of
Inuyasha, which I thought was catchy and powerful. Well, here's the
problem. When I first heard it, I heard it at an anime showing. It
was out of a notebook computer playing DivX encoded episodes at most
likely 64kbps or maybe even 32kbps (audio section bit-rate). I am
pretty sure the equipment in the showing room isn't some junk, but
they don't come close to what I've got (Sony VPL-1270Q excepted).
Excuse me for being too proud here, but to get my point across, do
bear with me. First time I listened to it on my system, it was
painfully apparent to me that this thing was "optimized" for cheap-ass
boom-box type thing with over-emphasized highs and no real "low-lows."
I was surprised so I listened to it with my trusty studio monitor
headphone for analysis. Not so surprisingly, the same problem.
Needless to say, I won't be buying anything V6 except maybe a car.
Then again, I really can't justify the fuel effeciency of V6 either.
Oh, BTW, I do understand that most of the "pop" or "anime" CDs aren't
really Hi-Fi type things, but then, they don't try to be anything else
either. FWIW, I wish some of the Orchestra pieces from Escaflowne,
Card Captor Sakura, etc. would come out on an SACD from original
master tape. That'd be REAL nice.
Yeah, I admit it. "Change the World" is catchy. But then, it's
SUPPOSED to be catchy.
