When I was ordering this, I didn't know what it was, but decided to get it anyway. According to WordNet, an anthology is, "n : a collection of selected literary passages." Another dictionary has "beautiful passages from authors." The important part is that it involves multiple authors. This book is a collection of short manga adaptations by many different authors.
Because it has contents by many different authors, both the art styles and story styles change between chapters. Some are fairly distant from Aoki-sensei's (the original author) styles, so I felt that it didn't flow very well. Although there are some good strips, I'm probably going to stick to the original works only from now on.
