I learned about this manga from the internet radio started in January 2007 (lantis-net.com). Apparently, it's made into an anime, which also started airing then. I haven't seen the anime, though.
It's a series of four-strip manga about four art academy(?) students living in an apartment building (Hidamari-sou) near their school. Of course, there are other interesting characters in it, too, like "Yoshinoya-sensei." "4-coma manga" has been around a long time, so it's not anything new in that sense. Come to think of it, I wonder what the original 4-coma manga was....
Anyway, it's surprisingly hard to read. Come to think of it, that was true of Azumanga Daiou, too. I think it's inevitable for 4-coma manga to be harder to read in one sense or another because it has to pack a lot of information into a small number of strips. Going back and relating the story to the title can be very helpful in many cases. It containing a fair number of hard-to-read kanji also raises the bar. It's not all that bad, though. I suppose I could've created a kanji list for this with all the kanji I looked up while reading, but I never saved the file. Oh well.
Overall feel of the manga is, nice toasty cute and funny. Hey, it's 4-coma, so I picked four words. Hyuuu... I feel a sudden chill.... (^_^);
