You know what's great? Things are much easier for me to decide what not to buy these days. Anything animated by GONZO and HAL Film Maker are out. By the way, I canceled ARIA DVD 5. Now, on top of that, I've decided to skip DVDs produced Pony Canyon unless it's so extremely important to me for other reasons. For one thing, they still haven't figured out how to line up the chroma channel with luma channel, and they're freakin' cheap. I put in extra money in my AIR postcard and they still didn't send me my prize. Media Factory and Avex Mode both didn't have any problems shipping stuff to US, so what's their problem? I'll tell you what their problem is. They don't care about their PAYING customers. Did you notice how they always come up with new, souped up (or lower priced) re-releases of old stuff? That's called making fun of their customers.
This limited edition is a joke, too, in terms of packaging. What value does a thin paper cover add? Nothing. The only video extra they added is a creditless opening, too. Of course, none of that really matters if the main content is great, but no, it's hardly anything great. The only things I like are character design of Rika and her voice (Takahashi Mikako). A few brownie points aren't going to make me happily waste my money, though.
I watched the first episode of My-Otome right afterwards. Now, damn, that's cool! I should've bought them as soon as they came out. Thankfully, though, I managed to get all first pressings. Sunrise knows how to take good care of their paying customers, so I've got no problems "wasting" my money on them.
As for this series, I've got the original novels. I don't need the anime version.
