Normally, with 3:2 pulldown, 3 out of 5 frames should not have any
feathering, however, if some stupid company does something stupid to
it, bad things can happen. See R1 Utena Movie review for more
information. In this case, only 1 out of 5 frames have no
feathering. 2 are made up of fields from two different frames as
usual, and 2 are messed up in some other way. I don't really want to
bother figuring out exactly which frames went where. My guess is that
the source material went through many machines before somehow ending
up on DVD and either one of the machines screwed it up or it's some
kind of cumulative problem. Either way, FLI2200 chip is less than
happy with the results.
