Animephile Rating: F (3.0)
- Video Scan Type : interlaced-OAV (-3.5) -
dTV can, occasionally detect correct pull-down, but it doesn't stay
that way for long and some part of the image feathers a little even
when it has the correct pull-down detected. All in all, it's not too
good. Maybe I'll get a better result once I get a new video-in card
with no tuner.
- Aspect Handling : standard (-0.0)
- Compression : -0.5 -
There are some problems, but hardly noticeable over all the crawlies.
Perhaps crawlies are getting emphasized due to compression, but no
matter what, I subtracted a lot of points from composite artifacts below.
- Video Separation : -2.5 -
Yuck! All contrasting edges have crawlies everywhere.
- Scene Transition : -0.0
- Calibration : -0.5 -
Probably because it's from an LD composite master, it seems to be
lacking in colors somewhat. Maybe that was intentional. After all,
she's in a wonderland for the most part.
Comments:
I am almost certain that this DVD was produced from LD composite
source. There was no additional editing done as far as I can tell.
In that sense, it's worse than the LD because it adds compression
artifacts to the original composite master. It's not too expensive,
but then, if you consider the short length, perhaps it is expensive.
Ah well. I only have one image for it. Look at the crawlies. (I
can't make them crawl in a static jpg, though)
