Animephile Rating: B (8.5)
- Video Scan Type : progressive (-0.0) -
Maybe around 80% of the show is progressive. Other 20% or so has 3:2 pulldown
sequence so feathers with movements. When it's in progressive mode, it's
very solid unlike "Comic Party," which keeps coming out of it often; however,
when it does come out of progressive, it lasts quite a while before it
re-enters progressive mode. It's so good when it's in progressive
mode, I'm willing to watch it using WinDVD (auto-detect-mode), if it
means anything to you.
- Aspect Handling : anamorphic-ANY (-0.0) -
I'm so glad I have that Panamorph now. I didn't think so many anime
would come out as 16:9! It's awesome!
- Compression : -0.0
- Video Separation : -0.0
- Scene Transition : -0.0
- Calibration : -0.0
- Other : -1.5 -
Not progressive all the way through. It was so darn close!
Comments:
Even though Koutetsu Tenshi Kurumi was only half good, I still can't
pass on things produced by "To Heart" team because "To Heart" means
so much to me. The first thing I noticed with Figure 17 was that it
felt much more like "To Heart" than Kurumi did. That's a definite
plus in my book. And unlike Kurumi, animation of Figure 17 feels much
more conventional. It's so much so that I'm having a hard time
deciding if it really is done with cell-less animation! I see
absolutely no film shake, so that leads me to believe it is cell-less,
but I see film-grain. It could've been added artificially, but
regardless of how they did it, I LOVE IT!
It's a slice of life type thing with aliens stuff and blah blah. Nah,
I won't really talk about contents. It's not my thing. You probably
noticed how I don't talk much about the story of any series. I just
don't like to. I'm probably bad at it, too.
That said, if you like "To Heart" and "NieA_7," you should look into
this series. It's a bit early to say, but I like what I see so far.
