I'm so close to understanding why some people go gaga over this
series. On the other hand, I fully understand that I do not like, and
even almost hate, this series. I read director interviews (from
Japanese magazine -- took forever to transcribe!) and plenty of other
comments on-line. FLCL is FLCL therefore I hate it. I'm not going to
bother going into it.
Considering how much time Sync-Point had to get this thing out, it's
pretty terrible. Everything else is pretty good, but the compression
is years away from what Japanese companies are able to achieve these
days. And it's purely interlaced, too. It just says how rare good
engineers really are in this world.
