Excel Saga isn't all that great. The problem with it is that it's a
dumb parody. It just makes fun of other anime directly. It doesn't
do it in any kind of clever way. It's a plain and stupid parody with
nothing else to offer. If you want something done right, go get
Nadesico, although I always have this nagging feeling that Nadesico
came out great by chance, and not necessarily by design. It works, so
who cares?
Certain scenes are very dull like most other digimation stuff these
days, but closeup shots are pretty good.
