I haven't been feeling like buying new anime these days, so on a whim, I bought this old anime instead. I actually have a fansub VHS of this. Funny thing is, I never watched it because it's an S-VHS recording. Eventually, I bought a VHS deck that can do pseudo S-VHS (playback only), but by the time I remembered, I completely stopped using the deck. I don't even hook it up to my HT system these days.

Anyway, it contains three short episodes, "seisouken kiryuu," "onsoku raigekitai," and "tetsu no ryuukihei." Action scenes are impressive. Apparently, the goal was to exceed quality of then Hollywood action movies. As with many anime of the period, deep meanings about humanity are embedded in each episode. It's amazing how little meaning recent anime contain. People are so busy being entertained, they can't seem to think of anything else.

I'm not in the mood to write details about each story, but I do recommend everyone watch this at least once if possible.

Mmm, I'm pretty sure these planes couldn't do vertical climbs. Not very long anyway.
