After seeing a little bit of Chobits anime at Foothill Anime showing,
I felt that the original art must've been pretty neat for a terrible
anime like that to actually be somewhat enjoyable; so I ordered some
of the manga. Gosh it's cute. I don't think I've ever seen such cute
drawings! From comparing the CLAMP style from Card Captor Sakura
manga to Chobits manga, I see that it evolves in all positive
direction. If you like cute characters, you ought to get this.
Unlike the anime, the story moves much faster and stays on focus.
Knowing that, some of the completely off-topic anime episodes like the
haunted room episode makes more sense to me. I think anime didn't
need to have so many episodes. I would've actually liked it better if
they didn't follow the same story at all. The characters are all so
cute, I bet they could've done something completely different with
them and still end up with a successful anime.
