On the other hand, Sugar, Pepper, and Salt are indeed animated very
well. They're super cute!
Since these are manufactured by Pioneer Japan, they all have images
under the disc surface. I think this process started with Hand Maid
May, but I may be wrong. Limited edition comes with a box for Seasons
1-4 and a musical card. Some have reported that the batteries in
their cards were dead when they received it, but mine worked fine. It
also comes with a calendar.
There are quite a few images this time. Except for the first one
meant to show you technical issue, all images are shrunk to save
space. First one is cropped. There is also an image for DVD Season
5.
Image1: One of the biggest issue I have with certain studios'
cell-less animation is that they digitally shrink and expand character
images in front of hand-drawn background image and often, it just
doesn't look right. They're either out of place or fuzzy. This is a
good example of what I'm talking about.
Image2: Sugar's mahou no hana (Magical Flower).
Image3: shiawase no hana (Flower of Happiness) from Risky Safety.
Image4: Safety (glasses, nice, calm, speaks with formal Japanese just
like Pepper, and is kind of good with animals, just like Pepper)
Image5: Sugar likes to munch on stuff.
Image6: So do Risky and Safety. Interestingly enough, Sugar actually
eats less sugary stuff than Risky. Good for her.
Image7: Saga's friends.
Image8: Moe's friends.
And did I mention only Saga can see kisetsu tsukai? Only Moe can see
Risky and Safety, although Risky and Safety can make themselves
visible to others as they wish. Also, they're all trainees.
