Well, duh! It's a VHS tape. dTV is able to detect 3:2 pulldown fairly well.

What compression?

Depends on your VCR or TV I guess.

It's pretty good for VHS tape.
Comments:
I've seen the first episode LONG time ago at FanimeCon. I'm pretty sure it
was when FanimeCon was still at Foothill College campus. Now, that's a long
time ago! I knew it was available here, but I wanted it on DVD. I could not
find it on Region2 DVD, so I decided to get the tape.
Boku no Marie is only 3 episodes long and yet does a good job of letting us
know about the main characters. At first, the phrase, "down to earth" came to
my mind, but it went away during the 2nd episode. If I had to choose one
word, I'd use "sweet." Of course, ADV's marketing team took over the cover
art and messed it all up.
Animation is somewhat like a simplified and stylized manga art. I'd have
expected myself not to like it, but I like it just fine. I've always trusted
my gut-feelings when it comes to anime and it says that this one is worth it,
so I ordered all the drama CD's (used, of course). We'll see.
I knew about Miyamura Yuuko, who does the voice of Marie (the android one),
but I never listened to her voice carefully before. Her voice is surprisingly
similar to that of Tange-san's. Tange-san has more range, but Miyamura-san's
voice is more natural. Both are very likeable. For those who are lost,
Miyamura-san did Asuka in Evangelion.
The image below was captured using VirtualDub. Actually, I captured the whole
tape at 640x480 29.97fps and compressed it (divX). I do that with my VHS
tapes because I don't really like dealing with tapes. I use 1.2Mb/s, 1.5Mb/s
and 2.0Mb/s rate, which is quite high for divX.
