Comments:

Character animation is often exquisite, indicative of the pre-CGI era, but the whole premise is too specifically designed for the otaku of those era. I'm missing the last disc (or are there more?), but I'm not in any kind of hurry to get it. That ought to tell you something.

While watching the show, I realized how trivial the world domination themes of shows like this and the Slayers are. The problem is that they bring in the divine power into the picture, be it god, dark lord, or whatever. Now, just think about it for a second. Why would such divine powers care to dominate a tiny and insignificant planet like the earth? Doesn't that just boggle your mind? Once I thought about that, I lost interest completely. At least they never went beyond the world view of the planet in Slayers. In Bakuretsu Hunter, they actually show the stupid little planet and the little moon going round and round. At that moment, the whole show became completely pointless. Are the gods so insignificant themselves that they have to personally deal with this one little planet?

Anyway, old video, old source, yadda yadda. Whatever.

Image: Is it just me or do we all think that "Dotta-chan" (daughter-chan?) needs some support? Yeah, I don't tend to point out things like this usually, but the show was so trivial that I got distracted.
