So I'm listening to the newly recorded episode on this CD and enjoying it, and then they get to the song part. Supposedly to be nice to the people who didn't buy the first CD, they replay the song from the first CD. That's when it got on my nerves. They used dynamic range compressor on it. It isn't even that strongly applied, yet it sticks out like a sore thumb from the rest of the CD.
It's as if the so called "mastering engineer" (what a waste of words) believes they're doing the listeners a favor. They really might believe that. I suppose that's better than them not even thinking about what they're doing and just following a check-list. Either way, I hope they all go to hell. Oh, and sooner the better.
