It's interesting enough, but feels rough on the edges. For example, mysterious things in Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou are more persistent with their mysteriousness. Nothing is directly explained yet the feeling is passed down to the readers, so the readers don't feel like they're being left out. For another example, spiritual things in Mokke are much more realistic, with associated "lessons" or thoughts with a lot of relevance.
In Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou, time moves very slowly per page, yet it never feels like it's moving slowly. If anything it feels the other way around. In ARIA, it feels like not much is happening, but the seasons fly by. I don't feel like every page is precious like I do when I'm reading Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou.
Having said all that, I'm still hopeful that it'll get much better. Most manga I read have been like that, including Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou.
For now, though, I need to get started on Iriya novel 3.
